I packed my bag with 2x zumba wear that following Friday.
I went to work and after that, straight to zumba. The instructor had some good news and some bad news. Well, the bad news, we already knew for a couple of months. He's moving to Brazil in September, so we will not be having him as our instructor after that. Well, my other concern had been, that zumba would be cancelled in all of June, due to a big press corps in town, following the UEFA U21 European Championship, which will be held in the city. Well, he said we would be having 2 zumba events out door during June. He also said, that he would leave for international work from June 24rd. till August. Fine by me, as the gym will be closed 2 weeks in July for summer break, and the other 2 weeks, I'll be away on my trip to NYC and Montreal.
After zumba, I jumped on a bus, that woúld take me on a long journey, as the center of town had been shut off due to the Battle of Carnival parade. I just made it to my friends when the start of the parade hit the corner they were standing at. Perfect timing! The parade was not as spectacular as it used to be. I think the big troops know that there is a great risk of costumes breaking in the Danish summer wind´. Oh well, I saw it.
After that, I waited 1-2 hours before going to the zumba master class. The first master class was still going on, which gave me some extra time to relax, put my shoes on etc. Compared to Nathan's Master Class in October, only a few people showed up. I think it's because schedule had been pushed to a Friday, but it was perfect for me! We were about 20 people there on the floor and we gave it all we had. I think they both knew how to make us push it a little further. Someone took pictures of us, that was posted on facebook. I'm wearing my pink "Crazy Happy" Zumba top.

The woman from my usual gym and zumba classes, gave me a ride home, and I was home at 11 PM.
Zumba was cancelled the next day because of the carnival. The weather was not the best. Grey and raining all morning, so I didn't go to town till after 1 PM. I like to go watch the parade, but again. They rain was putting a cooler on this year's parade. My friends met me in there, but when the parade ended, we went home to have some coffee, then dinner and finaly we decided to go see if the party was still going on. Well, at 9 pm almost everything had stopped. Everything was soaked in the rain, so we went home right away.

Zumba Master Class postponed due to Ash Clouds
Well, aroun 7:45 pm, we recieved even more bad news. Nathan and Maria would not be in the local airport till after 10 PM, so we did a votation.
Nathan was ready to do a late night master class or have the master class tomorrow. Since it was already very late and most of us had to go home and sleep before work tomorrow, it was decided to postpone the masterclass till the next day. Of course people would get their money back if they couldn't attend.
Well, I already have 2 zumba classes tomorrow, so to do a master class after those, is gonna make me so tired. but it's do-able, so I will try my best. One thing, though. I'm running out of clothes to wear. So as soon as I got home, I put my clothes in the machine and started to look for things to wear tomorrow. I wasn't sure if I had any, but picked out two "outfits" for both zumba sessions.
Another concern I have about tomorrow is. Tomorrow is the small carnival parade called "Battle of Carnival" - where all the big, professional dance troops will compete. I'm afraid I won't be able to see that parade now. Well, Nathan means more to me than the parade cause the big carnival parade will be Saturday, so I think I'll be ok. I hope they put Nathan on a bit later, so I can make it to both.

My Zumba instructor is a Super Star!
Tonight's Zumba was great as always. The instructor usualy has a playlist ready for us at his Ipod, but this time he said "Let's try something else and just have fun with it!" He just received a new cd from the Zumba community (?) with new zumba music and new choregraphs.. But since he is so talented himself, he said he didn't want to use the choregraphs that came with the cd, so instead we were gonna try something new. Brand new steps to brand new music. It was "crazy fun." I love that he makes steps and routines that everyone should be able to follow.. Of course, when he says now do this and that with the arms, I loose focus a lot.. When I dance, I'm used to only think about my feet and let my arms do pretty much what they want to do. But with Zumba, everything has to be controlled.. I see some progress, though.. And I've only been doing Zumba for 2 months, so I still have time ahead of me.
The instructor is from Brazil and today he taught us a dance that they dance at the Braszilian carnival. He said "when you go to the carnival in Brazil, all you need to wear is underwear and good dancing shoes" Cause it's so crowded and you sweat a lot. Then he talked about my shoes again.. Saying that "all the way back in this room, there are some nice zumba shoes and they're really good!" I showed them all my shoes again and that was it. I'm realy pleased with my shoes. Knowing how weak my ancles are, I need the best shoes possible, which was also why I wanted to buy the special shoes.
In the second class, he said he wanted to play some other music that what he played at the first class, since he know that some of us joined both his classes. It was funny. When I went to the toilet to change my t-shirt in the break, one of the other women asked me if I was leaving, cause they're so used to me being at both classes.. Ha.. Of course I was staying for the second class. When I had changed my t-shirt in the bathroom, the instructor was waiting outside to do the same. Zumba is great. It makes you burn calories and have fun at the same time. I love it!
Because the Zumba instructor is so talented, he just got a new job to do abroad in the near future.. But he promised that whenever he was abroad, he would send in a guest teacher. With his talent, I'm sure he will only let us have the best of the best.. But of course I prefer him to anyone.
He said he's been working with Usher, Madonna and MTV. So I wonder who he's going to be working for now. I feel blessed to have him as my instructor. His talent might not be rubbing off, but he always says he's satisfied with the work we put into zumba. And I'm sure he's not gonna forget about us. He realy gives us the impression that we mean something to him. I'll make sure to sign up for all classes in the future, him or a guest instructor, it's all good, cause all I want is to Zumba!
